More Information on Donating to The Princess Shop
We love to accept dress donations! It keeps our inventory fresh and interesting for each year's Princess Graduates. Please consider donating a dress that you think a 2016 graduate would wear (less than 5 years old, cleaned, and in great condition). If you provide your contact information, we will send you a photo of a Princess Graduate in your dress when it is selected by a Princess Graduate, upon her consent. Please click here for more information. During office closures, please drop off donated dresses at our Primrose Pizza Hut or Exquisite Fashions & Bridal, and Modern Sole Saskatoon drop-off locations

A Warm Welcome to our New Graphic Designer- Rachael Meckling
The Princess Shop is excited to welcome our new Graphic Designer, Rachael Meckling. Rachael grew up in Saskatoon but moved to Ontario in her high school years. She attended Ryerson University for fashion communications and graphic design. What makes her unique in her work is that she is an illustrator AND a graphic designer which means she can really make designs exceptional and we are excited and grateful to have her on our team! She did an internship at Flare Magazine and had her illustration and graphic design featured in a June issue in 2010 and she even was known as Flare’s resident artiste and was featured in an August 2010 feature about Flare’s “Young Bright Things.” Below are some questions we asked Rachael:
What got you interested in Graphic Design in the first place?
Ryerson. The introduction to Adobe InDesign changed my life. And when I realized I could make my own hand drawn letters into fonts. That was a big win.
Why do you want to work with The Princess Shop?
Because mentoring and investing in the well-being of girls is essential to their confidence and sense of self-worth. Girl Power.
What project are you most excited about with The Princess Shop?
Drawing the new "Glass Slipper". Very excited to make the invites for the 2016 Glass Slipper Gala as well. I hope my work increases the guest list!
What was your high school graduation like? Describe your dress.
A 1940's style dress from Toronto my aunt bought me for $100. It was made from a dusty mauve chiffon with two silk ribbons that wrapped around my waist and tied in the back. It made me feel like a woman. I'd wear it again.
What is your favorite colour?
Pink. I love all the corals and peaches and bubble gums and magentas. I love that oranges and blues can be made sweeter with pink.
We are so excited to have Rachael on our team and are looking forward to an amazing time with her! Thank you so much to Rachael for her willingness to volunteer her time and talent J

The Kinsmen Club of Saskatoon have been a major sponsor of The Dress Program since the 2011-2012 graduation season! This commitment and support has allowed The Princess Shop to grow and flourish over the years! With this year being out biggest year, we are proud to have over 120 participants in The Dress Program and are excited for a full week of graduation celebrations next week!
The Kinsmen Club’s mandate is to "Serve the Community's Greatest Need.” As an organization that supports disadvantaged women during the important transition from high school to the “real world”, we are lucky to be among Kinsmen Club of Saskatoon’s supported nonprofit and community groups in the city. While their sponsorship goes to the Dress Program, it leads the way and opens the doors to The Princess Shop’s Fairy Godmother Program and Next Chapter Program!
As a nonprofit group themselves, the Kinsmen Club of Saskatoon puts on many initiatives throughout the year to raise funds that will go directly back into the community. Their current event is the Kinsmen Home Lottery - there is still time to participate for your chance to win a dream home, Dodge Viper, vacations, and many more great prizes!
Thank you, Kinsmen Club of Saskatoon, for your loyal support and commitment to the Saskatoon community!
